seasons

How lucky am I, with you by my side

Us growing stronger with each passing day

As beautiful trees growing in the world

Parallel but curved towards each other

As time moves forward, our leaves change

From green to red, naked to flowers

The red tone in the fall is magical and new

The flowering buds in spring move through the wind

As the power of our love spins the colors of the world

Spreading happiness and joy to those who see

Time continues and storms can hurt,

But the branches that touch never changes

As my love for you will never change

growing roots

Growing roots

Underneath the apparent world

Connected to none

And yet to all

An evolutionary mind

Weaving and braiding

Through all our lifetimes

All our little futures

And pasts and presents

Untouched by the world;

It lives inside of us, me and you;

And we learn and grow

As trees untouched in a forest,

Being allowed to breathe

To learn from each other

And live our lives

Side by side

Hand in hand

Open to change

To possibility

To love and life

But always together

luna

The pull from the moon and the tides

Drowned us in heavenly bliss –

Filled us up and tore us apart –

Sewing us back together,

This time permanently healed.

Ivy

We see ivy grow up walls of

Buildings destroyed long ago;

Nature reclaiming the earth

As plants twist around columns

Crumbled from time.

Yet I wonder if the purpose

Is actually to heal—

To hold the structures in place,

Solidifying the union in history—

So that we will never be forgotten.

the scent of rain

The scent of rain fills my soul

As I walk past flowers that grew wild.

The sky varies in shades of gray –

But as it sprinkles for the first time,

I find myself wishing for a downpour.

So that I can dance under a canopy

And fill the world with my happiness.

persephone’s footsteps

When the sun rises over the mountain,

Coming just into view,

The light fills the world

With a golden glow.

The flowers covering the ground

Bursting with colors –

As if Persephone herself walked there

And spring sprouted from her footsteps.

A path of moss leads me

Into the forest

Where flowering trees shed petals

From the soft gust of wind.

I feel the warmth on my skin

As the light peeks between the trees –

Turning into a holographic starburst.

The path ends in a clearing

With the ruins of something

From long ago –

Vines have taken over the stone.

All these things are how I feel

When I remember your eyes

Looking into mine –

Filling me with butterflies and joy.

Happiness that is constant –

Making me realize that I am enough as is.

thistles spreading

Thistles spreading and sunflowers growing,

A remarkable beauty doth Time lead;

As the Sun awakens the Night, glowing,

The mix of hues cures heartbreak’s sullen creed.

The sun wakes

The sun wakes bright and early

To give breath to the cold night,

Lighting the journey of the day.

Golden beams spread throughout,

Reminding us that we’re alive.
